To accomplish our mission and vision, let’s explore the seven dimensions of our conscious brand and how my journey as founder has led to our brand’s inception.
What are the 7 dimensions of our conscious brand?

- Fashion & Style: Healing My Inner Child
- Spiritual Experience: Activating Your Crown Chakra in the Sage Greys Experience
1. Health & Well-Being: Anchors of Living an Abundant Life
In 2016, I started to have gut issues. I was a bodybuilder with 7-9% body fat at the time. I went to the doctor because I was bloated, and no matter how large my calorie deficit was, I couldn’t drop a pound. The doctor told me all my results were normal and sent me home. I knew there was an issue but couldn’t pinpoint what the root cause was at the time.
Then, I took a food sensitivity test, which helped identify some foods causing the bloating but didn’t tell me the root cause. After becoming exhausted from my experience with Western medicine, I took my health into my own hands and went to see a naturopath, The Tummy Whisperer; she ran some tests and ultimately diagnosed the root cause of my inability to lose weight. The test found that I had parasites along with too much harmful bacteria and not enough good bacteria. This left me with a different impression of Western medicine, and I slowly started introducing Eastern medicine to heal and live a more holistic lifestyle.
Health is about having complete physical, mental, and social well-being, not just avoiding diseases. In today’s society, Western medicine is the preferred method for disease or sickness. However, Eastern medicine focuses on treating the root cause rather than the person’s symptoms. Eastern medicine approaches diagnosing, treating, and holistically preventing disease. This includes multiple factors that embrace the mind, body, and spirit. The top 15 holistic modalities that help prevent the need for Western medicine are the following:
- Acupuncture
- Colon Hydrotherapy
- Infrared Sauna
- Cold Plunges
- Massage Therapy (Lymphatic, Deep Tissues, Cupping, Reflexology)
- IV Vitamin Therapy
- Exercise (Strength Training, Pilates, Yoga, Walking – choose exercises that work best for you)
- Holistic Facials w/Massages
- Proper Nutrition (Foods that work the best for your well-being)
- Ozone Therapy
- Coffee Enemas
- Fasting
- Meditation
- Reiki
- Chiropractic
While Eastern and Western medicine are both known for managing and improving your health, your well-being is more important. According to Meriam Webster, well-being is being happy, healthy, or prosperous, and there are five types of well-being:
- Emotional Well-Being: The ability to practice stress management and relaxation techniques, be resilient, enhance self-love, and generate positive emotions.
- Physical Well-Being: The ability to improve the functioning of your body through healthy living and good exercise habits.
- Social Well-Being: Your skill in connecting and cultivating significant relationships with other people around you, while maintaining a beneficial support network to overcome loneliness.
- Workplace Well-Being: The ability to follow your interests, values, and life purpose to enjoy meaning, happiness, and enrichment professionally.
- Societal Well-Being: The capability to take part in a thriving community, culture, and environment.
While the five types of well-being are all relevant in living a “human experience,” we forget the most important: Spiritual Well-Being. This is a deep connection to a higher power while discovering your life’s purpose. It helps you reach self-actualization through self-awareness, self-reflection, and self-growth. According to Spiritual Desk, there are 8 Aspects of Spiritual Well-Being:
- Connection
- Purpose
- Values
- Inner Peace
- Reflection
- Gratitude
- Forgiveness
- Service
By prioritizing the five types of well-being and your spiritual well-being, you’ll be healthier and enjoy greater satisfaction with your overall well-being. If you desire a truly abundant life, focus on how you can support your overall health and wellness. One of the ways that you can support your overall longevity is by balancing your mind, body, and spirit using your seven chakras, which we will explore next.
2. Seven Chakras: Balancing Your Mind, Body, and Spirit
I started doing Bikram yoga in 2012, and I loved the intensity. This practice introduced me to the seven chakras and the path to self-realization. Bikram’s methodology “uses the body as a medium to bring the mind back to the brain.” And it can “create a perfect marriage between body and mind, and then you can reach the spirit.”
According to Mind Valley Blog, a chakra is an energy center. In a healthy individual, the chakras work in unison to create life-force energy. Balanced chakras benefit the body, mind, and spirit. In addition, each of the seven chakras has a symbol, color, and meaning. There are seven chakras, starting at the end of your spinal cord and flowing to the top of your head:
- Root Chakra: Muladhara: Trust
- Sacral Chakra: Svadhisthana: Sexuality & Creativity
- Solar Plexus Chakra: Manipura: Wisdom
- Heart Chakra: Anahata: Love & Healing
- Throat Chakra: Vishuddha: Communication
- Third Eye Chakra: Ajna: Awareness
- Crown Chakra: Sahasrara: Spirituality
The Crown Chakra symbolizes our mission, deeply rooted in connecting signs from the universe to the collective. It is an energetic ecosystem; once you are in alignment, you will have a connection to the spiritual realm and gain enlightenment. Here are the elements of the Crown Chakra:
- Sanskrit Translation: Sahasrara
- Colors: Violet or White
- Location: At the very top of your head, resting on your crown
- Yoga Pose: Corpse Pose, Lotus Pose
- Sound: Om
Our brand serves as a universal consciousness (self-awareness, self-reflection, and self-growth), helping you discover your authentic self. We integrate the seven chakras into our brand to help you balance your mind, body, and spirit. We also incorporate emotional intelligence, a critical part of our relationship to ourselves and others throughout this lifetime.
3. Emotional Intelligence: Becoming Self-Aware and Mindful of Other Beings
They don’t teach emotional intelligence in school, but it is one of the most important aspects in life, not just working in corporate America. I first learned about emotional intelligence when I was 29-30 years old and working in corporate America. I was young and unaware of how to manage my emotions. If I was angry or upset, you would see it all over my face. This wasn’t the best working in corporate America, where managing your emotions is a key input into how you will progress in your career.
My manager, Cheryl, sent me to leadership training at Smith College called From Specialist to Strategist, which changed my life. This was my introduction to emotional intelligence, learning about myself, and how to interact with others. It was a pivotal moment in my life because it shifted my mindset, which helped me become a better leader and ultimately helped me become a better human being.
According to Psychology Today, the theory of emotional intelligence was introduced in the 1990s by Peter Salovey and John D. Mayer. It was then developed and shared by Daniel Goleman. Even though it is widely accepted, some researchers argue that EQ’s true explanatory power.
Emotional intelligence (AKA EI or EQ for “emotional quotient”) is your ability to perceive, interpret, demonstrate, control, assess, and utilize emotions to communicate and relate to others effectively. This ability is essential, but so is your ability to understand, decipher, and respond to other people’s emotions. Some suggest that EQ is more important than IQ when it comes to success. Four Skills for High Emotional Intelligence are characterized by your ability to:
- Perceived Emotions
- Reason with Emotions
- Understand Emotions
- Manage Emotions
It is not just these skills that are required, but also other characteristics that highlight a highly emotionally intelligent person. Here are the seven characteristics that distinguish highly emotionally intelligent people from others:
- Self-Awareness: The ability to recognize moods, emotions, and feelings of themselves and others. They have the capability of monitoring their emotional state and self-regulation.
- Empathy: The ability to comprehend other people’s emotions, which can help guide a better response.
- Self-Regulation: The ability to think before you act on your feelings. You are in tune with how you feel but do not allow your emotions to rule your life.
- Motivation: The ability to not allow fear to get in the way in pursuit of attaining your goals.
- Social Skills: The ability to maintain healthy social relationships.
- Expressiveness: The ability to control the right time and place when expressing your feelings.
- Perceptiveness: The ability to assess your feelings and analyze what you are truly upset about instead of taking your frustrations out on someone or something that wasn’t the root cause of the underlying emotions.
If you seek to improve your emotional intelligence, mindfulness is the first step. You must become more self-aware, which helps you become more present with your thoughts and emotions before acting or speaking too quickly. Once self-aware, you become more compassionate and empathetic for those you are interacting with. This helps you seek to understand and self-reflect before jumping to conclusions.
One of our brand’s core beliefs is emotional intelligence; it plays a pivotal role in helping heal the collective. You’ll see this integrated into much of our communication and our experience. And we also believe in the power of divine guidance, including the prevalence and significance of angel numbers.
4. Angel Numbers: Divine Guidance Leading You to Your Higher Self
A few years ago, I started seeing my birth month and day—1119—and didn’t know what it meant at the time. I didn’t think much of it, but over time, I would see it multiple times a day in various places: on clocks, license plates, etc. I went to my friend—Google—and typed in my birth date to see what came up.
This is when I was first introduced to angel numbers. My birth date contained 111, which means intuition in numerology. And after this, other angel numbers started to appear. Each time, I would research the meaning. Angel numbers were the first tangible sign that helped me feel connected to a higher power. They have been instrumental in my healing journey, and I am very grateful for their divine guidance every day.
In numerology, angel numbers are number sequences (1111, 222, or 333) or patterns (828 or 1212) that provide divine guidance and have specific meanings. They are messages from angels, spirit guides, ancestors, or your higher self, letting you know if you are on the right path or need to pause or take a different path. They each have a unique vibrational significance that uncovers messages from the universe about aspects of your life (love, purpose, balance, abundance, courage, or personal growth). Here are some angel numbers and their interpretations:
- 111 – Intuition
- 222 – Balance
- 333 – Alignment
- 444 – Protection
- 555 – Changes
- 666 – Reflection
- 777 – Victory
- 888 – Abundance
- 999 – New Beginnings
According to NumberLoops, angel numbers provide a unique and personal means of accessing a deeper understanding of oneself, spirituality, and the cosmos. Individuals can find direction, solace, and guidance on their life’s path by identifying and interpreting these spiritual number sequences.
Sage Greys designed crowns (baseball caps) with the intention of having the “Angel” line activate your crown chakra while revealing signs from the universe to you and the collective. Our goal is to provide our community with an opportunity; to align their chakras and tap into divine guidance while they discover their life’s purpose. This leads us to another integral part of our identity as a conscious brand: our belief in the importance of self-actualization.
5. Self-Actualization: Becoming Who You Were Meant to Be
I recently learned about self-actualization. One of my favorite books I listened to in 2023 was Worthy by Jada Pinkett Smith. She intimately shares her healing journey to self-actualization. I was on my healing journey at the time, but this book helped me realize I was still living my life for others and not for me. It helped me to uncover some unhealed areas in my life. This was how I became aware of who I was meant to be.
Maslow’s hierarchy defines self-actualization as “self-fulfillment; namely the tendency for him [the individual] to become actualized in what he is potentially. This tendency might be phrased as the desire to become more and more what one is, to become everything one can become.”
There are five stages that he proposes as necessary to fulfill to achieve self-actualization:
- Stage 1: Contains the most basic needs, such as food, water, and shelter.
- Stage 2: Represents safety needs.
- Stage 3: Belonging or relationship needs.
- Stage 4: Involves respect or esteem needs from the self and others.
- Stage 5: Self-Actualization
Although self-actualization is most often associated with Maslow, Kurt Goldstein first coined the term. Goldstein characterized self-actualization as an individuation or process of becoming a holistic “self” (i.e., the individual realizes that oneself and one’s environment are two pieces of a greater whole) and acts as a primary driving force of behavior in humans. Our brand is committed to inspiring the collective to pursue their creative, intellectual, social, and spiritual potential and to reach self-actualization. By emphasizing each individual’s ability to realize their dreams and their true purpose, we benefit our community while also staying true to what Sage Greys is all about. Here, we welcome you to become who you were destined to be. That’s also what led us to integrate healing our inner child, including my own.
6. Fashion & Style: Healing My Inner Child
As a little girl, I loved fashion, and I would always record fashion shows! I would make clothes and wanted to work in the fashion industry until I was told I wouldn’t make any money. So, I put my dream aside and pursued a career in engineering. This was the big craze back then: engineering was the best path if you wanted to land a job right out of college. It turned out to be a very true statement along my journey.
As I continue to heal my inner child, I remember how much fashion meant to me as a child. We all have big dreams as children, and as we grow older, we are taught who we should become. Then, we become the person that someone else thought we should be.
Over time, fashion has always played a big role in my life. Whether it was winning best dressed in grammar school or getting my prom dress made by Barbara Bates, a black fashion designer in Chicago who was a big deal in the 90s or working at the Gap for five years, fashion has been with me through every chapter. Once I graduated from college, I wanted to work for the Gap as an Industrial Engineer. This would give me the best of both worlds: using my engineering degree and working in the fashion industry.
Once I graduated from college, my top priority was to get a job. My dream of working at the Gap corporate office wasn’t happening at the speed I needed it to happen. I needed to be gainfully employed, which led me to a job in a manufacturing facility. Here I was, wearing steel-toe shoes and getting filthy going to work every day. It was the opposite of my dream of working in the fashion industry, which was what my inner child longed for!
While working in manufacturing, I still craved fashion, so I thought about creating a fashion magazine. And I also launched a T-shirt line, Posh Passe’. However, back then, social media wasn’t where it is today. I would spend my weekends going to markets to sell my T-shirts. But the business wasn’t growing at the rate I intended. So, my focus shifted to climbing the corporate ladder, but the company died, and all the while, I suppressed my inner child.
I consciously began my healing journey in 2018. One day, my daughter looked at me and said, “Mama, are you happy?” She could feel my InnerG; she knew something wasn’t right with me. I believe our children are here to teach us more than we are here to teach them. I will always be forever grateful for my daughter because this opened my eyes, and I began to do the work. It wasn’t an easy journey, but it was worth it. I peeled back the curtain and began to unlearn everything I was taught. And I am still healing because it is truly a lifelong journey.
Along the way, Sage Greys was born in 2020. Sage means one who is distinguished for wisdom, a mature or vulnerable person of sound judgment, and a mentor in spiritual and philosophical topics who is renowned for profound wisdom. The second meaning is the act of burning sage; it purifies spaces, ridding them of negative InnerG and promoting healing while seeking profound wisdom.
Greys is purposefully spelled differently from “Grace” but embodies the meaning of a spiritual gift given when we feel we don’t deserve it. Grey is one of my favorite colors. And Greys reflects my healing journey; it’s been “Grey,” and nothing has been black and white. The journey of healing comes with ups and downs, ebbs and flows. However, we must give ourselves “grace” as we unlearn, forgive, and release what no longer serves us. We are freeing up space for what is, meant to be in our lives.
In 2022, the universe planted a seed within me to launch a baseball cap line; at the time, I didn’t understand why. But if the universe wanted me to create a baseball cap line, it needed to be a luxury headwear line; “luxury” meant I wanted it to be more than just a product; I wanted to build a conscious brand along with the ultimate spiritual experience. I am curating all the things I learned and continue to learn along my healing journey.
I launched Sage Greys two years later, on 2.22.2024; our first two lines are Angel and Conscious. Currently, the angel line includes angel numbers (1111, 222, 333, 888), and the conscious line includes words (Abundance, Discipline, Divine Feminine, Gratitude). These angel numbers and conscious words play influential roles in the collective’s healing journey.
I am so grateful that I am consciously healing my inner child and feminine InnerG; both were pivotal in launching Sage Greys. I look forward to the next chapter of my healing journey. And I hope this story inspires you to heal your inner child.
It was only through healing my inner child that Sage Greys was born, allowing me to pursue my passion and ultimately, create the Sage Greys Experience. As part of our crown community, you’ll enjoy all that Sage Greys has to offer including the ultimate spiritual experience that combines all seven elements.
7. Spiritual Experience: Activating Your Crown Chakra in the Sage Greys Experience
To truly connect and delight our customers, we wanted to create the ultimate spiritual experience that makes each customer feel nothing but positive InnerG. We focused on incorporating the seven dimensions in the Sage Greys experience. We intend to provide divine guidance at every stage of our customer journey that helps you activate your crown chakra, connecting you to the spiritual realm and gaining the enlightenment you need to become your authentic self.
The Sage Greys experience ships each package with angel numbers and conscious words intentionally placed outside the transit box to ensure it is divinely guided and protected along its journey. The transit box encloses the hard (masculine energy) shell that protects the crown (baseball cap). The experience begins when the hard shell is opened you will first, start by reading a card that curates the story for each piece enclosed inside the package.
The experience continues with a Clear Apophyllite crystal, which means “In Light of Your True Self,” that seals each envelope. Apophyllite carries the energy of universal wisdom. Its natural pyramid formation makes it a powerful conductor of light energy. It possesses a high frequency that creates an angelic aura, clearing your mind and allowing you to release tension from the body, and is used for Reiki healing. This brilliant crystal cleanses your space with pure white light, creating a calm and peaceful environment; Apophyllite adds to a relaxed, meditative state and opens receptivity to healing energy.
This crystal intends to open the crown chakra by expanding your consciousness and elevating your InnerG. Apophyllite also activates the third eye chakra (Ajna: Awareness) by awakening your inner vision, heightening intuition, and channeling psychic abilities. It is, meant to establish a clear connection to the higher realms, helping you receive divine guidance. It inspires introspection towards self-actualization.
Once the envelope is opened it contains our vision and mission, a gift of gratitude, a love note and keepsakes that should be placed in the line of sight and serve as a sign, always connecting you to the universe.
The crown (baseball cap) is enclosed in two layers: the first layer is a hard (masculine) shell for safekeeping, and the second layer is a soft (feminine) satin bonnet that can be worn at night for additional protection while sleeping. Finally, the crown (baseball cap) is revealed. Our intention is to help activate your crown chakra, bringing about an intense sense of spiritual connectivity. We hope each customer will feel a profound connection to the divine, which could manifest as a heightened sense of oneness with all beings.
